"The art of reinvention will be the most critical skill of this century." -Yuval Noah Harari
Melissa De Yoe, circa 2019

Sometime around 2017 I discovered User Experience and User Interface Design. Finally, a career that was at the intersection of my abilities, passion, and strengths. My ikigai! Unfortunately, this was well after college and a few years into my Project Management journey. But a combination of will, a pandemic, and a year of self and world exploration put me on the product design path anyways. Finding a career that fused my passion for creative expression, critical thinking, and being in service to others felt like the alignment I was seeking.

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." -Helen Keller

This passion for experience and exposure to new ways of living lead me to study Entertainment & Tourism Business at CSU Fullerton. There I learned even more about what humans like to do and how they like to do it.

I have always been inclined towards the creative, but I focused my education on the ever-practical business studies. Since graduating, I have worked in retail and restaurant management, logistics coordination, project management and operations management.
My corporate administrative experience taught me the value of knowing your users, proactive communication, time management, collaboration, and delivering on goals.

In 2018 I decided to pursue a career path that I was passionate about. I love problem solving and thriving on deadlines, but project management was without creativity, unique user problems, and empathetic connection. So I took the leap and dove into Thinkful's, know known as Chegg Skills, UX/UI Design Immersion program (Dec 2020 - May 2021) to gain the tools to accelerate in this field of practical artistry. I joined MediKeeper in 2021 where I continue to craft high-fidelity mockups and prototypes, and communicate interaction and design concepts that delight users and exceed stakeholder needs.

My greatest strengths are in user flow planning , visual design, info architecture mapping, curating design systems, human connection, chopping veggies, planning trips, dinking (pickleball), photography.
I'm passionately learning more about content creation, copywriting, branding, fitness, nutrition and new places to travel.
